Preface
I have decided to write this biography because I enjoyed listening to the stories of Kalifornia Dave. This is a man who does not believe in money, government, politics, corporate ideals, or retirement plans. I find this way of thinking interesting enough for me to write down his experiences. It is hard to imagine how a person survives in todays world with views like his.
Kalifornia Dave told me as many stories as he could remember. Of course, I would not be a good writer/reporter if I did not follow through on the research. This book is separated into different stories. Most of them are comical, yet they hold meaning for kids to know right from wrong. Parents also could learn a great deal from his experiences. Most of them are rough because there is a lot of illegal drug use, uncontrolled alcohol consumption, and anarchist views. Please read the following book with an open mind. The stories that were told to me, I have researched as best as I could. I found individuals who took part in some of these adventures. At the end of every story is the corroboration from whoever accompanied Kalifornia Dave on these Great Adventures. In the corroboration sections, I refer to Kalifornia Dave as K.D. because I have become quite tired of writing out the full name.
Apart from this disclaimer, I admit Kalifornia Dave is quite a character. He is very charismatic and has an uncanny ability for storytelling. I mentioned to him that he should write this, but he declined. He felt a writer should write the book. The stories were his to give to me. I did the research, and they all are true. It might become difficult for my audience to believe some of the things, but I assure you, they are far from fiction. I have to admit that some of the stories he told me were a little distorted, but I would expect a story to change depending on the person that is telling it. Also, the stories are written in the first person. I tried to keep it exactly how he explained each and every situation. So please, find yourself a quiet, cozy, little place to sit down and take part in The Great Adventures of Kalifornia Dave.

I can admit to all of these stories as being true. I do want to stress to parents, children, listeners, and readers that I do not suggest my actions to be followed by anyone. I was a lost individual trying to find a greater meaning of life. I failed in most aspects that involve the substances I abused. You might find some of these stories to be funny, sad, pitiful, self-destructive, happy, colorful, and many other adjectives. I assure you will find the same things I found. THIS IS LIFE!
