No Rest for the Wicked (revisited) Jan. 30th, 2007

So I was awakened today by my two cats duking it out at 6 AM.  Now, normally my one cat wakes me up at 6:30 every morning because she wants out of my room.  The other one is still quarrantined because of her bad attitude and not being able to play with others.  I truly know what it is like to be a parent.  My two kids(cats) are something else.  I feed them, and they cry when their bowl is empty (but they just emptied it an hour earlier).  I clean up their shit, and they shit out of the box when they feel it is too full, (which it is not), they cry when they want to go outside, and I tell them 'no' but they run out anyway when the door is opened.  So really, Who is the pet and who is the owner?  Just curious, because I am feeling like the bitch here.  I mean seriously they do not have to do anything but eat, shit, and sleep, that sounds like kids to me.  I can't make them work, so instead I am making them learn.  I am using new commands and trying to teach them to come.  Tinks has picked it up really good.  I call her, and she comes immediately.  Words like, 'outside' and 'let's go' are also understood.  Now Mia, I am trying to teach her Arabic as I learn it.  I would love to get her to understand various languages.  I taught one of my dogs (which I don't have anymore) but I taught him vietnamese, french, english, and spanish commands.  I don't if he still remembers them, but knowing my ex-roommate Erik, he probably still uses the Vietnamese commands.  Erik's Dad was Special Forces in Vietnam near the end of the war, so we picked up the important stuff from him.  Anyway, back to my cats, they are lovable and I am glad I saved them from the Anti-Cruelty two and a half years ago, but they were supposed to be for my sisters, since that lasted only about a year, here I am picking up the pieces.  Since the ages of the cats are near 3 now, they have a long way to go.  So, I am not so much a cat person, I have always had cats growing up, but I was more friendly with my dogs.  But now that it is just me and Mario in the big house, my cats are really the only ones home when I am on my downtime or reflective period.  Tinks likes to lay on me, but not petted, and Mia wants to be petted constantly.  Anyway, like I said, who is the owner here?  ME?  I don't think so....
