The beginning of something great. Pre-Production has begun. July 21st, 2007

Well, my partner and I had our first real get together, and although things got off to a slow start (not to mention all the interruptions like my mom dropping off my smokes, my father buying a pizza but then letting it slide into his floorboards en route back to the house, so no pizza!, and all the phone calls) we did manage to get the first 2 scenes down...So it looks like Pre-Production of Jails, Institutions, and Death is in full effect. 
I am pleased with the work we did...We visualized the opening scene and the second scene which is really the same scene but one is on location and the other is driving...The dialogue is already set (well most of it, so I have to add some things) and I sent out a message for a DP (Director of Photography), but I haven't heard back from him.  He already told me he was in, and has been doing films for about 18 years now, so his expertise will be welcomed with open arms. 
We are stuck with the character races, don't know if we should change them or keep them like the book.  I know the movie is going to be much different than the book I wrote, which is why I was looking for a screenwriter, but since our search has come up dry, we are taking on the task ourselves.  It is not too hard for me to do, I am familiar with transitions, and camera angles, and character emotions...
Well, like I said, Pre-Production has begun, now we have a long way to go before we hit the production stage, but the best part is that this is a great learning opportunity for me.  Besides I needed a new project to do, I was getting bored with nothing to do...
