Music is my life!
It is not just the sounds of a screaming guitar,
Or the beat of those drums,
Feeling that baseline thump your heart an extra beat,
The synthesizers, pianos, violins, flutes, etc.
It is all that combined to give you the magic carpet to help you escape,
To allow you to feel what the composers want,
What the Artists feel when they add lyrics,
The emotions and life struggles that motivated them to write such poetry,
Music is my escape and my barometer that I use to gauge my own life,
Anger calls on Slayer, Pantera, Old Metallica, Machinehead, and Slipknot,
Love lost requires The Cure, Senses Fail, and Smashing Pumpkins,
Even though Billy Corgan is an asshat, nonetheless the music is good,
When I need that boost of energy I call on NOFX, or Rise Against,
Being friends with some of these bands is even better,
It allows me to know the people behind the words,
Showing me how they came to write the words and notes that drive me,
That make me feel sorrow, make me relive my pain and suffering,
The Grateful Dead when I want to dance and just be free,
Steve Miller, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, and Hendrix are for rocking!
The music of Beethoven soothes me, the 80's allows me to reminisce,
There is so much more to music than just background noise while you clean,
The feelings that come alive, the emotions that spill out are what I enjoy,
The creation of something so alive, so pure, carrying a tune for someone else,
Music is my life, and I go everywhere with it playing, it is the soundtrack of my
LIFE
