Here goes another day and today is Good Friday. Not that I celebrate holidays of the churches, but it is a good friday by my standards. I somehow ended up with more money in the bank. The bank cannot explain it, and neither can I. But they will not remove it because they can't find their error. So, works for me!!! The honest guy I am; I went to the bank today and asked why there was extra money in my account. But sometimes I even regret being so honest. I mean I don't know anybody else who would point out a bank error in their favor. Hence my name today; Kenny K. Has A Ton Of Monopoly Money!
I have a job interview next week, but I think I am going to cancel. I reviewed everything that the job is about, and I thought about it, but I don't want to go back to sales. Even though it is a reputable company and all, I think it is not for me. Plus, their background check is extensive. Now, I have all the information they are requesting, but I would rather give them the paperwork rather than agree to have an outside source do it for them. But they have a company to do that, and I don't want to agree to let some outside agency gather my records. I mean they are talking criminal, DMV, worker's compensation, credit reports, etc. I think that is a bit excessive, but I guess most corporations are doing this, and I think it is intrusive. Like I said, I would furnish all of this for them, but I don't want an outside company making a decision for the hiring process. I think if I am qualified for the job then I should get it, it shouldn't matter if my driving record or criminal history is full of holes. Or worker's comp???? Come on, I got hurt in that bad accident in 1993, and yes I was on worker's comp. I mean I fell off a conveyor belt into a stone quarry about 3 stories up...Do these companies actually think they can minimize losses by not hiring people who have been injured on the job in the past. I know they are assuming that some people abuse the worker's compensation program, but it shouldn't apply to everyone in the hiring process. Plus it is an inside sales job, I mean what part of my driving record applies to that. Or my Credit Reports??? I mean seriously, you have to have a clean background to work in Corporate America, maybe that is why I avoided the whole Corporate Drone status. I listen to music like Cypress Hill and Slayer because I never understood how Corporate America even exists. Rich people getting richer and screwing the poor/middle class in the process.
On a different note; they are calling up 12,000 National Guard troops to go to Iraq. or in Arabic, ??????, I mean what happened to the 'only 21,000 troop surge' It was B.S. then and it's B.S. now. Even the 21,000 surge was a lie because it did not include the extra troops needed for support and logistics. Bush is a liar, always has been, him and his father are a couple of rich Texans who think it is cool to manipulate the American People for their own Big Business/War Contract World. Anyway, when the elections come up next year, I hope to God everyone gets smart and opens the door up for some major change. We lost this war long before we ever sent any troops over there. And I don't know if anybody has thought about this, but in military standards, it is a wise thing to have your forces connected. Now Afghanistan and Iraq are only separated by one piece of land, and that land is Iran. So please do not think that our Government has not looked at the maps and seen the advantage in connecting our Afghan forces with our Iraq forces. Hence all the Iran propaganda being thrown at us from this administration. Also do not forget that our number one ally in the region is Israel, which is hated by all those countries. So, with Israel thankfully being on a cool down period, we might have a chance to save our forces and American Mothers more heartache if we bring them home instead of a continued struggle against people who are willing to die for their God. How do you defeat a group of people who believe their actions are a direct result of God? You can't. Anybody who has nothing to lose and Heaven to gain is a dangerous adversary. Imagine trying to fight someone who is willing to walk into a bullet because he knows he is going directly to Heaven. Not to mention their Heaven includes 40 Women/paradise for any male. How can you defeat that? Just curious, if you have an answer please fill me in.
Moving on; I just got done cooking a 8 pound ham, and it tastes great. I am an awesome cook. The meat is perfect. Ham sandwiches for weeks. YEAH!!!
Alright, I just wanted to expound on a few ideas that are running through my head. I am off work today, so I am going to go finish painting the upstairs. I just can't sit still today. OH, and I am not going to Summer School, so it looks like I can't transfer to Hawai'i until Summer of '09 at the earliest. But that is so far away, that it is not even worth me thinking about it. I am also trying to get hired as a public speaker for community colleges. I am sending in my demo tape this week, which means I have to shave, but if I get the job it will be worth it. It is only 1-2 speaking engagements a month until December. 250 bux a pop. So I can increase my wages a little, and it is only an hour at a time. Plus this will allow me to polish my skills, I think I would really enjoy being on the speaking circuit. My life experience can inspire and give some added insight to the youth of America on what you should NOT do in life. I will keep you posted on this. Alright, I am done, Ham sandwich time and then off to painting. Hope all is well, plus Shot Baker and The Methadones at The Cobra Lounge at 9 pm tomorrow night. (Saturday, if you don't know what day it is today). Plus it is a free show, and it is 21 and over. Come out and support your Local Chicago Music Scene, You Cheap Bastards.
